For over 30 years Paul Bailly has specialized in the architectural practice of new and remodeled single-family homes.
As a “Family Architect” his goal has been to lift the quality of family life through sensitive aesthetic, and functional planning and design…enhancing the Art of Living. Through innovation, Mr. Bailly’s designs are able to satisfy specific family needs and realize the expressed wishes of his clients.
Mr. Bailly holds a Master of Architecture degree from M.I.T. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota’s School of Architecture, with High Distinction, graduating Phi Beta Kappa.
Currently, Mr. Bailly teaches two architectural classes at UCLA extension, Residential Remodeling and Anatomy of a House. He taught architectural Design at USC and has been a visiting architectural critic at University of Utah.
Homeowner stylistic preferences are an important design ingredient and his body of work reflects this through the many traditional and modern homes he has designed.
As an ongoing student of single-family residential architecture, Paul Bailly has visited hundreds of architecturally significant houses all over the world, and has compiled a slide library of thousands of images depicting the numerous stylistic features and details of these noteworthy homes.
Knowledge of home construction is an important aspect of Mr. Bailly’s experience and expertise. He worked in construction his student years and is today a licensed General Contractor, as well as a registered Architect. Although he does not now practice general contracting, this background leads to houses that are well built, and with few maintenance burdens.
Over the years of his practice, Mr. Bailly has put together an ensemble of tried and true craftspeople, in various disciplines, to carry out the themes and details of his designs.
The mission of Paul Bailly, Family Architect, is to produce functional houses and remodels with innovation. Planning and design are to be consistent with the existing or desired style and space.
If you care about how well your house works….if you care about how your house looks….if you care about having a home you’ll still love in ten years….Here is the Architect that can help you achieve these goals.
Dorothy Rodgers, wife of renowned composer Richard Rodgers, wrote a book titled The House in My Head. We all have a house in our head. Let Paul Bailly move that house in your head to the house in your life.
